Cam bearing tool

I have used Auto Zone's loaner blind hole bearing puller to pull the inner bearings as djl and others have suggested on this forum before. Costs nothing but they do ding your credit card with a deposit which is refunded when the tool is returned. If you're changing cams you can use one of the old ones as a drift to drive the new bearings into the case. I have used a deep socket for this also with zero problems. Put the bearings in the freezer the night before or a few hours before installing & lube them (the outside of the races) & the holes into which they fit with motor oil, then knock them in using a medium sized ball pien hammer (like around 20-24 oz.). Checkvthe installed depth before removing the old ones (I use the depth gauge function of a dial caliper for this but really you can do it by "feel" without any issues; set them just below flush with the case) and match that depth when installing the new ones. Just make sure you drive them in square, be careful, & install the bearings with the numbers facing "out", so you can see them when installed. Just don't drive them in too deep, as there's no bringing them back out without using the removal tool which will almost certainly damage them.

I would never trust myself to not use the correct tool for installing the bearings. I bought the remover/installer advertised by a seller in Lakewood, Ohio on Ebay for ~$104ish and it worked perfect.
I highly recommend the seller and the tool. I'm originally from Ohio and the seller said he makes them right there in Lakewood (the CLE area).
I bet if you emailed him and bought one of his tools he would be able to ship it to you by the weekend.
His seller name was "whoya" something or or other.
