Default True Dual management system

I'm told if I upgrade my 2010 Street Glide with V&H duals and round slip-on's I will also need a Fuelpak or something to monitor or regulate the mixture. The local dealership tells me they have a Harley module they would include with the new V&H pipes. The thing is, it is over $500 for this module. The V&H Fuelpak is $289. What am I missing, and what do I need to outfit my bike with new pipes? Right now the estimate is over $1600 including labor.

So far..

DRESSER DUALS: $479.95
TWIN SLASH ROUND SLIP-ONS: $424.95

Total BS. With just that upgrade the ECM will adjust back to it's original lean condition.

What part of Texas are you in?

Depending on your wants for power, most will tell you that true duals will rob you of some torque in the lower rpm range. This is true. If you want to use dual mufflers then your better alternative is to get yourself a Xpipe from either Fullsac or FuelMoto.

The Xpipe will keep your torque in the lower rpm range and allow your engines exhaust to flow. Best to speak to both companies to get a idea of what they can offer you for your needs.

For the tuner part, most are piggy back systems ( such as the Fuel pack ) that trick the signal into flowing more fuel to the injectors. )

For a better system I recommend TTS Mastertune which Fullsac sells. He will also give you a tune ready to upload into your ECM with the settings for the exhaust changes with his systems

FuelMoto sells the DynoJet Power Vision tuner and will also sell the tuner ready to load to your ECM with your exhaust changes if you go with them.

If you decide later on that you want more power, both systems can be re calibrated to the changes you have made

If you buy a tuner go with the TTS.

Good advise...but also open up the A/C and buy the TTS. If your willing to drive down to new braunfels...I have a great tuner down here is you decide to really dial in the bike.
He tunes for the local harley dealers because they just can't do what he does.

Don't waste money at the dealership

Fullsac X-Pipe: $479.00
V&H TWIN SLASH ROUND SLIP-ONS: $424.95
TTS MasterTune: $445.00

At $445 for the TTS MasterTune, I'm still at $1600. What does the TTS MasterTune do for me that the $289 Fuelpak wont? $1600 is still too steep a climb for me. My budget is around $1,200.

The fuelpak is a piggyback system for your ECM. The TTS and the Power Vision allow you to remap the ECM w/o adding an electrical component to your bike. Also w/ a proper map and/or a dyno tune they will be more precise on the adjustments your bike needs. If money is an issue than I would recommend either waiting or just getting a good sounding slip-on muffler for the stock headpipe and a TTS or Power Vision Tuner. We actually have customers bring their bike w/ no mods in for a dyno tune w/ the TTS and then call or email us back afterwards to tell us it was like a whole different bike because of how much better it ran. It is truly money well spent.
In regards to the dresser duals you will lose performance over your stock headpipes. Use either the x-pipe or the power duals. For the mufflers if you like the looks of the twin slash then use the monster series version twin slash as it is much better for performance.

Fullsac sportpipe that makes within 1 hp of the x pipe.

Exchange price >> $279 >> http://www.fullsac.com/sportpipe.html

V&H Twin slash rounds $230 >>>

http://www.powersportsplace.com/part...FUOK4AodkUsAiQ

Total minus some shipping for Fullsac = $509

Order the TTS mastertune through Fullsac and you will get the right calibration for your setup to load into the ECM

TTS mastertune plus connection cable >> $487

Total so far $996

If you can do the wrenching yourself and have a laptop to install the TTS Mastertune program you saved yourself almost $200 and got what you want

I would keep an eye on the FS section to see if you can lower the price of the pipes. I would add a tuner with the pipes and an A/C mod.

You are right its not cheap, but since the cat is in the header pipe it creates a bit of heat. So replacing the header and the slipons adds to the cost.
