Default Question on head work for my 07 electra glide classic

Hello All.

I have a 2007 HD, Electra glide. And popin the heads off this winter to clean the carbin off. and while I have them off was going to have them rebuilt. The bike has about 22k on er. Runs great just has a little ping. and every one I have talked too said clean the carbin out. take heads off and clean up. so I am. some time soon. I live in Mich. in the three rivers area. Was wondering if anyone know of anyone close by that does Head rebuilding and improvements to these heads. if any.. The bike is pretty much stock. besides k&n and exhaust. Im planning on doing diff exhaust and getting her fully tunned this yr.

Thank You

22,000 and your going to pull the heads? Unless there is something wrong or your going to do a build I think that would be kind of silly. If your pinging and that is the only problem I would suggest using the tuner of your choice and running a little richer than stock. I personally use the Dobeck TFI and love it. But there are lots of good ones around.

Hmmmm Ok well that sounds promissing.. better than pulling the heads off that is for sure. gezzz everyone I was talking to said I would have to pull the heads off and clean the carbin build up. They were saying these 07+ bikes were known for that, But the bike runs great. Planning on getting her tunned anyway cause I want to do some diff pipes and air intake, instead of just slip on's Ok this makes me happy. THANKS ALL

We re-build, and perform port modifications for clients all over the U.S, Canada, Europe, and as far away as Singapore.
A straightforward Stage I Head, from us, and an Andrews 48 cam, will have you thinking that you bolted a larger engine in that.

I agree with perki48 as well but I would run some Seafoam through the intake first. Watch the carbon come out the exhaust. Google Seafoam treatment, probably a Youtube video available as well.

We would recommend pulling them if you were going to do some performance upgrades otherwise there should be no need. If so then they would have to be paired w/ a good cam to truly get the value out of machined heads.

Ok Ya guys the only reason why I was thinking on pulling the heads is because everyone is saying I needed to on this 07-08 bikes, They say they get a build up of carbin in the cumbustion chamber. But I know a few other ways to clean that up. I like to keep my every day bikes pretty much stock besides exhaust and intake. Ill do a good cleaning on her this spring and change all fluids again. and get her into the shop for a good tune job with the new intake and exhaust on er. We should be ready to go after than. thanks all.
