Has anybody used AV gas for winter storage? Typically my FLHR is in storage in Central WA for 3 months a year.
used to use it back in the leaded fuel days-------it HAD better shelf life back then. Then when the lead left I went to VP for storage for a while then decided stabul was more cost affective.
Stabil is probably your best bet. The additives in E85 are what causes the problems. If you have a marina near by and can get your hands on some real 100% gasoline, that's be the way to go.

Forget the AVgas. Just because it is for an airplane does not mean it is better, it is just different (I have been a licensed airframe and powerplant mechanic for the past 38 years).
Don`t drain the tank, it will rust inside. Just fill it with gas and some stabil.
Agree with the previous poster about avgas octane, too high, and doesn't have some of the beneficial additives car gas has. I go 4-6 months of cold storage, don't do anything but fill up the tank to minimize condensation, shut the gas valve, and drain the carb bowl (Harley's have a screw for that, if you didn't know). Never had problems this way. Used stabil in assorted gas tanks one year, had to clean the carbs, wouldn't touch the stuff again. The stabil bottle also melted out on the bottom and took the paint off the metal shelf it was on. Ain't gonna get near my bike. I've seen cars stored a couple years with no prep, and fire right up on the old gas and run fine; today's unleaded gas lasts a long time.
then VP would be close-----------the last time we bought any good fuel was what bandimere sold at all ford day.I think it was sunoco that was equvilant to c12 vp
