I just talked to Bub Enterprises (Jennifer was extremely helpful)...
I've got a set of Stubbie baffles on order to slip into my staggered softail Rineharts.
These are 1 1/2" baffles they recommend for more torque and not as much noise.
Their part number is 21-00037/2
Description: Stubbie/C.Maid 1 1/2"* Baff (pr) $68.25
She stated they've sold a few to Rinehart owners but noone she's heard has called back to give them any feedback, so I will.
So I figure I'll give it a shot as an experiment to see it if tames down the pop just a bit... Hopefully not tooooo much because I do dig the deep sound. I'm betting the low end torque curve will be a bit better, maybe at the risk of losing a little horsepower. And I won't be waking up the neighbors quite as much in the mornings warming up for the ride to work. [sm=icon_cheers.gif] Shoot.. I'll even try to take some side by side pics of the stock baffles next to these to show the difference.

RE: Rinehart Baffles
Ok.. two months later..
I finally swapped out the baffles from stock rinehart baffles on my softail staggered pipes.
Went with the Stubbie baffles recommended by Bub..
Also, these are softail staggereds rather than the touring duals, so all bets are off on those slip-on baffle choices.
The two things I expected were a decrease in sound volume and performance increase in lower end torque, due to a bit more back pressure.
Sound-wise, they're 'eh' ok. They are definitely quieter. But, I lost a bit of the nice lower end boom boom for more of a pop pop pop.. hehe.. sorry best explanation I could come up with. Reminded me of the V&H Big Shot Shorts that I had once before.. and hated due to performance. I'm going to run these baffles a while so they can cake up and mellow out a bit and see if I like them.
Performance wise, I did immediately detect better throttle response right off of idle, which I attribute to the extra back pressure. Less time with choke opened also as if the bike is idling a little "richer" maybe??
This was mainly an experiment in hopes of preventing making the new neighbors mad.
Will I keep 'em? eh.. maybe. Sometimes ya just gotta **** off the neighbors.
If I had them to order again, for the sake of anyone with Rineharts that like the sound but maybe a little less of it, I recommend sticking with the larger diameter baffle.. maybe for one with a bit more profile on the louvering, rather than decreasing down to the 1 1/2" baffle.. I think somewhere in the middle of the very low profile Rineharts and the high profile Stubbie baffles would be a great product.. I might even attempt to pull the louvers out a bit on the stock baffles and retry.
For anyone that might be interested.. Hope it's some good info.
