Default Miss fire after Stage 1 and Slip Ons

My dealer recomended the download after Stage 1 and Vance and Hines slip ons. I was informed the power commander is a better route, but the download would indeed work.

I have since experienced the occasional miss when I accelerate from a stop. Not very pleasent to hear a miss on a bike with 800+ miles.

I called another dealer (top rated service dept.) in the area that informed me the download is for Screamin Eagle pipes, not V+H. They said the download does work, but with V+H's, I will experience some misses.

Is this normal? If so, I wish I had waited until I could afford the power commander.

If not, I need to do something with the installing dealer.

Thanks

The PC works well but it is most effective with a custom map made on a dyno.

I have heard, over and over, that the Stage 1 download is too lean for V&H pipes. Heck, it's almost too lean for SE pipes.

Seems like my miss occurs after running fairly hard and then braking aggressivly. I would think that would be indicitive or running rich...but I am not sure.

Just wishing I would have held off until I could afford the pc. Did you guys all self install the pc or have your dealer do it?

I agree, any time you vary from the HD parts with the download, you're running the chance of a problem on the lean side

If I was running lean, wouldn't I be getting better than avg. gas mileage? Currently 38-42 mpg.
