Default Need exhaust suggestions

Hello, fairly new guy here. Have an '04 FXST with Vance & Hines Short shots. Loved them 5 years ago, now I would like to go quieter. Should I put more baffles in or go for a different exhaust? Price is not a factor. I would like the bike to still sound "like a Harley", just not quite as loud.

Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Mike

I just bought a 07 fxdwg and want to change out the stock pipes (to quiet) any suggestions? Was thinking about turn downs or something like that. Also want to know if i will have to remap the bike or can i just bolt on new pipes.
Thanks for any help

Slip ons = No remap

Full system = Yes remap

We like the D&D 2-1 exhaust systems and the Vance & Hines Big Shot Staggered for both the FXST and the FXDWG models. For BURNS the V&H would not be a sufficient option to be less obnoxious over the V&H Shortshots.
We recommend having the bike tuned anytime you make an exhaust system change.

How does a ThunderHeader compare to the V&H 2-1?

Both sound great, the v&h is definitely much more livable and not nearly as loud as the thunderheader .

Take a look at the Supertrapp Supermegs. It has a tunable disc system which allows you to customize the sound.
