Default V&H Monster rounds

Just got a set of Vance and Hines monster rounds the other day and put them on my 2012 FLHTK. Nice deep sound but am wondering how much louder they will be when I get my dresser duals on vs the stock pipes? My wife doesn't like it too loud when she rides with me, just had her hip replaced so she can't yet, and asked why I needed to put different pipes on? Also if it's too loud for her is there any way to make them quieter?

Easiest way is to buy her a set of ear plugs and then convince her that excessive wind is bad for the ear canal.

Not for sure of the sound difference. But I will tell you that we have found on the TC96 models, via the dyno, that the V&H Dresser Duals are a downgrade in performance over the stock headpipe. We have not had any experience on the TC103 because we strongly encourage our customers not to use them so we do not sell them. The V&H Power Duals on the other hand are a better performance head pipe than the stock. In regards to just the headpipe for newer dressers this is what we sell the most. Just thought I would mention that to you.

Guess I'll have to try the earplug thing. Have to get her a helmet so that might help too. As far as the dresser duals vs the power duals I have heard that they make less HP but I already have the dresser duals in my garage. I liked the look of them but will see how they are when I do install them. Have all winter to think about it since I don't think I will be riding much longer due to the weather. So since you and others recommend the power duals how much louder are they with the MR's vs stock?

I had the Power Duals with Monster Rounds on my last bike- 2011 fltru. I loved the sound and didn't think it was too load. They are pretty mellow until you really twist the throttle. I could easily hear the stereo over the pipes doing 65 on the highway

I would have to agree with Sesto123 as I personally do not think they are too loud.

Thanks guys. I'll have to think it over this winter whether I put on the Dresser Duals or sell them and get Power Duals or look at other options. Have read online that the Dresser Duals are a little louder than the Power Duals too. Got a few months to think about it.
