Default slip on mufflers on new street bob - advice needed re: tuning

Hi folks,
looking at putting slip on mufflers to a 2013 street bob with no other changes. There seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there on what the best thing to do is... nothing Vs Stage 1 down load Vs SERT and full dyno tune etc.

Will slip on's make the bike run leaner than it already is?

Should I go with the full stage 1 a/c and down load from the dealer??

I have also read that the stage 1 download still leaves your bike running lean due to EPA compliance... Is this true??

What do you suggest?

Likely that slips will make the motor run leaner.
I would go with high flow a/c but not dealer download.
Yes a dealer download still leaves motor on the lean side. H/D is a manufacturer so they have to comply with EPA standards.
I went with pcIII and Ness b/s from fuel moto. Good price, great service. Slip ons I bought off Craigslist.

Slip ons could make for a leaner condition, but if nothing else is changed the ECM should compensate to a degree. I think the dealer download won't do much (if anything) for you and the bike will still be lean. If you're happy with how the bike runs and sounds I think it's ridiculous to install a tuner and have it dynoed. Look into one of the types of IED's from Nightrider.com. Not expensive, easy to install, will add fuel to the mix, and may be all that you need.

If you get no backfiring, no popping on decel, and no throttling issues, you should be good to go. I installed SE II slipons on my Deuce. It runs fine and sounds great. An air filter change......that's a different story. Good luck!

It's suggested to get a tune after slip ons, but some people get away without it. If you get an intake, definitely get it tuned. We prefer the PCIII or PCV over here, but there are several great options available.

Thanks for the replies and advice guys... looks like I will wait until I do the intake before I put slip ons on and get the PCV all done at the same time.
