Dummy cap removal

I assume you are referring to the timer cover. Those small screw are soft and have permanent loctite on them. I got mine out with a good torx bit and my small impact. The screw will pretty much be trash. I use my old cover as a puller now to pop timing cover. Drilled a 3/8 hole in center for a slideing hammer stud.

I looked at your bike and thought since it had that side showing you took left from front? HA. I assume yours is your fuel gage like mine.? Mine you pull it straight up with our turning it. It has a gasket under it and I guess it can stick pretty good after a long time. There are little spring tabs sticking out that retains it in and I think sort of key it at proper angle. When you pull on it they spring back in. Never had mine out but what my service manual appears to say.

No it's just a dummy cap. 91 fatboy. I've tried turning slightly and pulling up, unscrewing with band wrench, no luck. I'm chicken to pry it off for fear of tearing it up or the paint....
I just want two caps so it's faster to fill up. I have to sit and wait 10 min for the equalizer line to fill other tank, then top off 3 or 4 more times. PITA

I would not think it would matter but make sure the vent at the top front winding down and out in front of back tire is open also. I am sure mine has the same vent tube as yours at bottom and mine just takes gas like normal. I would assume it's just the last couple inches you are talking about since it runs to other side from top. Forgive me if this is a stupid question but you are not trying to fill whole tank including the top air space up are you?
