Or do the Screaming Eagle kit. The way I figure it's going to cost about the same either way. With the SE kit you have a lot more cams to choose from (another thread?). Anyway's I've got the bike on the lift and gutted the cam chest. One thing I wanted to share is, I had picked up a new inner bearing puller off of ebay. When I tried to pull the bearing it just slipped off the collet (end). It didn't work for ****. I was in full on panic mode. I even considered getting a local indy to do a house call. That would have blown the budget. Then I remembered reading on some other post's about the Blind Hole Puller from Autozone, so I rented one and it worked great!
UPDATE; I had finished my Dyna in Sept. I did the S.E. cam plate kit, Headquarters 0034 cams, Comp Cam lifters and S.E. adjustable push rods. I have put about 2k miles on it and everything's good.

I have been running the SE kit for about 10K. Only draw back I see is you have to use the old secondary cam chain which is not cheap when you go to replace it but should last a long time.

DanDman and ShadowMonster are using the '07 cam plate. You can't use the old inner chain if converting to the '07 cam plate; both chains are rollers but you do have to use conversion cams. The SE Hybrid kit requires that the old Morse inner chain be retained.

For me, I had to weigh through all the info and differences between the cam plates, and the differences between the year, bearing/journal sizes and what conversion cams were. I didn't want to have to press in/out the cams, that way all you basically need to do the upgrade at home are the parts obviously, plate(with tensioners), chains, cams, new inner bearings, new O rings, spacers, c clip, sprockets, oil pump, gaskets, and adj push rods, unless you want to pull your heads to use the stock rods?? Depending how crazy you go with cams you may need new lifters and valve springs. As for tools, the only specialty tool would be oil pump alignment tool($10 for two) necessary to ensure you don't mangle your oil pump once you get it running and a torque wrench. May also be a good time to check your crank run out if you have access to a dial indicator, just for your own knowledge, never know you might want to go to gear cams down the road

I also received the stock 07 roller lifters from the original 96" , was wondering if I can use them in my 88" as an upgrade??? Only have 3k on them.( just looked on Ronnie's parts finder, same part number between the years! Cool)
