Default which cams?

prolly going to do gear drive cams soon, gonna stay with an 88 incher for now

dont have bags, dont ride 2 up
love to take off like a bat out of hell at the traffic lights
do a good amount of highway riding

in other words, i feel i have enough low end torque
dont wish to lose any low end

i have V&H big radius and a SE air cleaner as my only performance mods right now

also would these cams work any good with a 95 inch if i choose to do that in the future?

would also like close to stock lift as not to have to change my valve springs

just wanna get rid of the chain drive setup (it worries me) and few more ponies would be nice

thanx for any help

oh yeah its a fuelie motor so i know i am going to need to get it dyno tuned (can any HD dealer do this with a SERT?)

The Andrews 21g might work for you. I just did the 26g because I have a bagger and ride 2 up.

Really just the opposite....The 21's would be the prefered cam for bottom end grunt pulling of a heavy bike with a heavy load. They make the bike like a tractor. The 21's come on earlier and also quit pulling earlier compared to the 26's.

In the Andrews line, I'd consider the 37's for a lighter bike, especially if I were enteraining the idea of going to 95" later. However, if you aren't certain about ever going to 95", play it safe and get the 26's.

The 37 may be a better choice for a lighter bike than the 26, but unlike the 26 which works well with stock compression and heads, the 37 prefers to be in the upper 9's (9.7, 9.8). So in order to get the full benefit of the 37, you would need to get some headwork done.

They will work, and your bike will run. You will see an all around improvement.
But when you bump the CI's and get headwork done is when you will really see what you have been missing!

cool, i pretty much have the cam change procedure down (thanx to a few books i have)

few questions though:

1) whats the lift limit on the stock valve springs?
2) assembly lube on the new cams or not?
3) break-in procedure for the new cams?

thanx for all the help thus far
i really appreciate it!!!

for stock or compession up to 9.6 to one you can use Andrews 37s.

I have some new ones for sale on the classifieds.

stock springs are good for 510 to 520 lift.

roller cams usually dont have a breakin proceedure.

some assembly lube wouldnt hurt
