Default Would a pitted lifter cause ticking/knocking?

I just pulled the lifters out of my 05 SEEG with 55000 miles trying to find a knocking type noise that developed in the last couple hundred miles. The bike runs fine. I had previously checked the tensioners which were fine. Other members suggested lifters could be the problem. The lifters both show damage to the roller surface in the form of pitting-one mild and one looks pretty bad, but I don't have anything to gage it against. Could that be the source of the noise? If the rollers on the lifters are bad, does that mean the cams are getting worn? The pushrods look OK and the rockers feel very smooth. What else should i look for? Is there any certain lifter I should be looking for and what should it cost? Thanks

Surely can.
You need to take a look at your cam lobes as well, as usually they mirror the roller, if damaged.
Don't consider this a set-back, as lemonade, can be made from those lemons, in the form of better lifters, cams.

I was wondering about the cam lobes. I'm also wondering if I can put it back together and run it until winter when I would have time to make lemonade. What lemonade recipe would you suggest and what would it cost? I hear good things about you guys and believe you offer kits for DIY? Thanks

I've heard good things about Vthunder lifters, so bought me a set. It was either 142 or 162 for them. Can't tell you how long they last yet, cause I only have like 500 miles on them, but no complaints yet, and quality appears high.
