Bought hell bents - power cones?
Bought WCC hell bents for my 2000 carbed Deuce. Already have larger jets in with current setup.
Some people are saying I "need" power cones or something to make up for lost low end torque.
Is it a necessity or an opinion?
Just curious. I know low end torque will take a hit, but it can't be some unridable amount i'm assuming.

The best is to try it out and see if you notice a difference. When I had my straight pipes, they would really come on strong in the upper rpms. You could really feel it. I then added "lollipops" to the pipes. I no longer felt that surge, but the bike hade more of a linear pull rather than the high rpm burst. Even though the low end was stronger, that burst made it feel faster. When I removed the pipes to put a 2-1 on, I found torque cones. Since the lollipops worked in giving more low end power, I don't think the torque cones did much. I never ran the straight pipes without them though. The 2-1 has better power all around. Only can verify by how it runs against a buddies Ducati. He used to be side by side off the line and then leave me flat by 30mph. Now I can jump on him to a little past 40. With the lollipops, it was a little past 30, but I had a little more edge from the start than without them. The straight pipes are definitely not ideal for torque. As long as you are happy with the looks, sound and performance, I wouldn't bother with the torque cones. I also think that the only ones that work are the expensive ones. Probably not worth it. The lollipops are, but I doubt you want to put holes in your new pipes.
