Default Power Commander Vs Race Tuner

Gent's,
I'm looking at adding new pipes to my 07 Softail Custom. I've been told I really should get one of these two systems, either a Power Commander of a HD Race Tuner. My dealer informed me they won't even install a power commanders, (but didn't explain why). Has anyone experienced any "issues" to disuade me from getting a Power Commander or can you explain why I "need" the race tuner instead? I'm not changing (or planning on changing) any other major components other than the pipes & maybe a hyper charger later. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jim

Th e dealer wants to push their product, the SERT. Nothing wrong with the Power Commander. I've had 2,000 trouble-free miles.

Easy to install and tune. No dealer needed. For a mild modifications, easy to tune as well.

Use the SERT - use the O2's.

I agree with one_screaming_eagle amd F117ewo maybe it isnt the dealer pushing their product, maybe they are more familiar with the SERT than the PCIII. My dealer will install either but was up front with me and told me that their tuner has more experience using the SERT then the PCIII.

I installed a race tuner on my Dyna superglide prior tohavinf the egine built I was not happy with the way it performed. Orlando HD did the install on the race tuner and told me it was made by the same people and was pretty close to the power commander. Curly the service manager, did not know what he was talking about. After disagreement with my engine builder over installing a power commander "his suggestion to get it to run like it should. He finally said if you are not happy with it I'll pay. I had a power commander installed and dynoed cost 650.00. It was worth it. big difference 11 horse power.
After that, I installed Vance & Hines big radius redynoed and dropped 7 hp. Love the looks and sound but not for big motors.

Either one will do the job. It really depends on the ability and familiarity of your tuner as to which one is "better".

I've used Power Commanders since 2001 on many Harleys and never had a problem.
