My 2006 XL1200C idles fast when hot, it may 20 -30 seconds to idle down at the stop light. Idle is normal when engine is cold. what is this caused by ?

 

My 06 EGC does this sometimes. I run gas treatment because the intake module will get black and the idle control valve will get dirty and cause the idle to do this. You can pull the air cleaner and clean it with throttle body cleaner. Lean the bike to the side and put rags to catch the roll off. Open the throttle and clean it. You will be amazed how dirty it is. The 1st hole on the top is the idle controll passage. Spray in there while cycling the ignition switch on and off. The crud will roll out the intake on to the rags due to the bike leaning. Oh I forgot to ask if your bike is fuel injection, if it isn't disreguard this post.
