My Lo is currently at 4500+ miles. I am going to take a week vacation for Americade and do a lot of riding that week. I am pretty sure that I will be over the 5000 mile number prior to coming back home.

Should I get the service done now, just shy of 5000 miles, or wait to after the trip and get it done with just over 5000 miles. (we are talking 5100, at most)

Yup! Then your bike should be fine for your trip. Get it done asap, not the day before you set off!
