Default Think im gonna go with Woods TW-7H's

Guys, im going to be taking the motor back down here before long for a set of ported heads with comp releases, and I have been trying to decide on which cam to go with that will meet me in the middle with every day rideability/reliability, and performance. I typically like to ride low-mid range, some two up, and mostly in town, less than 70mph, so I think the woods 7H will be a good choice. Should make good power down the mid range. I'll be using a .030 headgasket, may even have the heads milled down a bit for a bit more compression. I am planning on being able to use the stock springs and pushrods also, anyone have a problem with that? Does this setup sound good to you guys?

If you don't ride with ear plugs, get some.

I can't say so with certainty on that particular cam but I have ridden with some that run Woods cams and the ones I have heard, excepting the 5-6 and the 6, were noisy. But, noise is a pretty subjective issue; noise to one is music to another. If you do run his cams, run the directional lifters as well.

I'd lean in the direction of a 777, with the gasket, and re-surface to establish 10.35.

Well, looking at the bigboyz calculator, .030 gasket, stock heads volume (86 cc) and flat top pistons = just over 10:1. With the 40 degree intake close, that's 9.25 corrected. Looks good to me, but I know Scott likes to run them higher. Other builders like to keep CCR below 9.3.

Yeah, and thats right about where I thought I'd like it to be. I don't want to have to give up my reliable bike just to go a little faster. Do you guys think I'll be safe with the stock springs and push rods?

TW-7H is only .575" and is advertised as "bolt-in", which means to me stock springs are good to go.

With my build I installed the SE adjustable push rods.

OEM spring will accept that 7H, but I'd lean in the direction of a set of adjustable pushrods, in order to load the lifter .140-.150" to help establish quiet operation of those cams.
