Advantge of aftermkt backplate vs stock?
guys, I'm in the process of deciding which , A/C ,and pipe combo to purchase this spring, I WILL be gettting the PC111.
So,,,Whats the advantage of say Ness ,SE, or KN backing plate vs using the stock ,
and drilling a bunch of 1" holes in the stock setup w/a K&N element??
ya get so many suggestions here which is great, but still leaves me confused and undecided?! As far as my local shop??!!?? Why do you think I'm here??
grin

The biggest difference is actually the filter.
THe K&N "stock replacement" filter is about 1" thick and varies in diameter. The filter that comes with the K&N, Ness, S/E "High-Flow" kits is about 2" thick and round. Air flow into the throttlebody / carb is less restricted on the round filters than the stock shaped unit.
