Default SE 103" cylinders just bored out stock 96"s?

I was reading a discussion on another forum about boring stock 96" cylinders out to 107" and the contention was that they were too thin to withstand overheating with possible warping the result. That got me to wondering about the 103" cylinders in the Stage 2 kit. Are they just 96" cylinders bored to 103" by the MOCO or are they a separate unit, thicker from the start and hence a better candidate for the 107" bore.

NOT TRUE on the 107" info your recieving.
We have been boring those 88-98" and 96-107" for 5 years now, and there are many other shops that are doing the same.

I know there are lots of motors out there that are 107" that started out at 96" with well documented positive results. I know that shops like Hillside and Fuel Moto have gone to great lengths to develop this set up and that is great. (Wish I had one of these in my motor!). And I am in no way trying say that this business about heat warping issues is true! I have no doubt that the testimony of Scott from Hillside and Jamie at Fuel Moto is true. My question goes back to what I asked to start with....Is the SE stage 2 103" barrels that comes in the kit (pn# 29893-07a for instance), stock 96" cylinders bored by the MOCO to 103" or are they a separate casting and hence thicker to begin with and in turn require less material to be removed to get to the final 3.871 dia?

103" is the MoCo bore out of a 96". They all start the same if you bore them to 103" you are doing what the factory does. The 110" barrels are different tho' and have a less good reputation - smaller fin area and less strongly fitted liner.

Thanks fxdxrider for clearing that up for me!
