CV carb in winter time
Is it just me or does anyone else who has the cv carb noticed when the winter blend fuels start coming in the fall the bike does not run very well. It happens to my bike runs great in the summer but winter time its awful mileage goes down and it really doesnt perform well. What can be done if anything?

Yep, sure noticed it with mine. When I got it, was warm & it ran great. Soon as it cooled off, it started with a part-throttle miss & backfire on throttle chop. I thought it had more to do with density of cold winter air causing a lean run problem, than winter fuel blend, so I swapped the 45 slow jet for a 48, and that seems to have cured my winter runability issue. When it warms up, I'm figuring I'll have to switch back to the 45, or run over-rich.

I went to a 46 first from the OEM 45. And that did help a bit, but didn't cure my prob, particularly if temp is below 45 or so. So I hopped on up to a 48 and that seems to have cured it. I rode to work at 35 F last week and no miss/backfire. So far, so good. You might pop a 48 in & see what happens. Only a couple of bucks, & less than an hour of your time if you can pull the bowl without removing the carb. I never could. You'll have to readjust the mixture screw & idle speed, however. At least I did. Good luck.

To get my Vibrator to run worth spit in the cold, I have to run a 48 slow, 195 main (which is stock), .043" raised stock needle (two #4 washers), and 3 full turns out on mixture screw. And my AC & exhaust are stock (well, nearly stock). I figgered it was way, way too lean when I got it cause it ran what I thought was very hot, and the plugs were white as snow & blistered. Seems to be running a bit cooler now, and definately don't miss the miss. To be perfectly honest, however, can't tell much diff in the performance, other than the now-missing miss.
