JMHO but the Woods directional are the best. There are less expensive options that are good but you asked for the best. HQ Black Ops would be a good alternative and the CompCams VThunder are the most economical and will also get the job done.

There are some very exotic products for the racers but very expensive and overkill for the typical street build.

I thought of the compcams v-thunder I think the part # is 875-1 but have heard stories of them sending 850's in the 875-1 package, Not sure of the difference or how I could tell if it was the 875-1 lifters.

You can't tell the difference by looking at the lifters; they are the same except the 875-1 liftters are travel limited and intended for high compression engines with high lift cams.

If you plan to use the CompCams lifters, do not order online. Call the order in and be specific with the guy on the other end; let him know you want 850-1 lifters made by Delphi. I believe CompCams has more than one supplier of these lifters and the Delphi units are of the best quality.

875-1's don't have the regular clip in the top. It has a pressed in disc.

Sounds like I need the 875-1 instead of the 850-1
IM running 10.5.1 comp with 625 lift cam is this correct?

actually, I don't consider 10.5 high compression but I don't know what your CCR is. By todays standards, .625" lift is definitely not a bolt in cam but not radical either. You could use either llifter. Do some research on travel limiters, specifically on the VThunder lifters and you make the call.
