The dealer wants an arm and a leg for the bearings when I'm sure someone like Timken or SKF makes them and probably has a cheap outlet for them.

I have 38k on my 06 Heritage and want to replace the cam bearings, tensioners and lifters. What's Y'alls experience on the most economical way to to a quality job?

Torrington's are what you want. Get them at George's garage . com

IIRC the bearings in the SE Performance catalog are Torrington/Timken, about $14 a pair; the labor is what runs the cost up; same as a cam R/R. Any brand, USA made full compliment bearing will work.
