If you do a 120R....get it in kit form, and have it done on your existing case...might as well keep the VIN numbers matching.

Just flipped through the SE Catalog, doesn't appear to be a 120R Kit for my 06 FLHRS.

with the money you're spending....might be worth a phone call.

Either way you're good....but I like matching VIN's...and a custom built motor seems to get more TLC than an assembly line motor...unless you go
S&S...sorry, but I am a TRUE believer in S&S stuff.

They're the the original custom Harley guys...been around for fk'n YEARS, and their stuff is always top notch.

I, personally, wouldn't hesistate to go S&S if I was in your shoes.

i went with the t-111 for several reasons

1. 3 year warranty

2. perfect for touring -- recently went from Atl to L.A. and places inbetween and back

3. great motor block for future builds

4. balanced motor equal bore and stroke, a lot less vibration

5. had a 131--I used every cubic inch of -- not into street racing (any more)

6. price $5400 free shipping

you can get a 120r for 06

this is something you only want to do once--don't ask me how I know; a warranty on a big motor is a good thing

the S&S 124 with a 585 - 600 cam and compression lowered in the range 9:8 / 10:1 will be the best of both worlds -- you can ride it anywhere and race it when you get there

I'll make mention, that if the heads are brought up to speed on the 124"er, there is a NIGHT AND DAY difference, between the torque/hp output vs the bone stock S&S head.

I have an S&S 107, predecessor of the 111. They are built expressly for dressers, with an easy torque curve for hauling long miles, so don't have the higher torque and power outputs that a more tuned motor might give. They come with automatic compression releases and I'm sure a 124 does as well.

The dealer who supplied and fitted my motor advised against the 124 because he reckoned they don't run well as a touring motor. That was three years or more ago. I'm sure one will do fine for a wilder ride!

My wife and I have done three tours in Europe of over 2,500 miles on our 107.

If you are after serious performance G2 will build you an S&S 145". Why mess around with a middle-weight when you can truly go the whole hog?!

That's the crate motor, someone had mentioned getting it in kit form "unassembled." Thanks for trying though!
