S&s 585
Well winter is setting in and ideas are running wild. I asked awhile ago about increasing the performance of my 95". Got some great ideas. Got another question.
Will the 585's work in a 95". I know I will have to increase compression. Prob have to do that thru new pistons cause mine are only 9:1. My heads already have different springs to accomodate up to 630 lift and milled 30 thou.
Guess my thought is I already have 585G in my SG so I already know how they perform so I wont be wondering about performance. And will these cams work with the hydrualic cam plate upgrade that I already have in my RK. Plus if I use the 585 they have the easy start so I wont need to releases to keep it a sleeper.
Any input. Or I could just use woods 6 cam which everyone says is a winner.

If I stay S&S I think I will have to stay with the 585 just casue of what my compression might be. Im looking at the wiesco 10.5 piston. It doesnt look like they have a 10/1 piston. There 10.5 have a 14cc. With my existing heads that have already been mill 30 thou I think my compression is going to be pretty high. I should have heads off by end of week. Going to have them cc'd and then go from there.

Yeah, gotta do that and equalize before you know how much to shave off the 10.5s. You know, nothing wrong with the H-D cast 10.25s or their 10.5s either; I like them better.
