SE BB Stage II Build - Opinions Please
My local Dealer is having a winter special and will install the SE BB Stage II Kit, PN 29874-06 on my 2006 FXDI for a good price, I would also like to have them install a set of SE Performance Heads, PN 16953-06 which I will supply (I can get at a good price and the dealer will install as part of the build). My question is what else is recommended?? SE push rods? or will the Stock one do, any other suggestions from those who have simialr builds?
Thanks - The Breeze

Breeze..... Those heads are gonna increase your compression ratio. Do you know the upper linit of the recommended compression ratio for SE 203 cams? You could be setting yourself up for pinging if the CR is much higher than what the cams like. The 203's are mediocre, at best. Since you're already considering changing things around, you might want to consider a "pacakge" comprised of other components that are known to compliment each other.
"If it were me", I'd call a couple shops (like HDForums sponsors) and discuss what you are looking to do and what you'd like to accomplish. They are in the business of making strong reliable motors. THe dealership is in the business of selling parts.
Check with:
Big Boyz
GMR
Revolution Performance (Millenium)
Others that are equally qualified, but not site sponsors:
HeadQuarters
Bishops
Performance Techniques
Do some homework BEFORE you spend a bunch of $$$ on something you may not be totally satisfied with and will then turn around and spend more $$$ to make it right later.....

RE: SE BB Stage II Build - Opinions Please
Thanks guys, this is just the type of information I needed, appreciate the feed back. I do not want to do anything dumb and have it cost me more $$ in the long run. I know the Stage II is okay but could not find anything about adding heads, and my SERT info does not have a MAP for the set-up. I may just get the heads ported to make them flow better.
Again, this forum is great and the opinions and information gathered here is the best.

If you're going to run 203's, just run stock heads. 211's woith stock heads and cast compression pistons will make 100tq and 90 hp but if you step up to SE heads, look at a different cam or you will not take advantage of the head's capabilities.
ALSO - the big HP# is nice, but on a heavy bike building for torque is the way to go.
