Default THose with S&S 106 BB Kits..how High is too High?

My Engine temps which used to run a steady 235 - 255 degrees when stock with a cam, pipes, AC are now running 265 - 275 Degrees after
recent S & S BB 106 build with S&S heads, S&S Cams.

Engine has 1500 miles on it. Runs strong as hell and all is great but those temps are a bit high arent they?

Comments from other 106 motor guys are appreciated so I can compare apples to apples.

Thanks

Where are you taking your readings? That ain't bad for head temps, too hot for oil.

Has this been tuned, to insure AFR, and timing is correct for the dedicated engine combination?
If so, then perhaps an oil cooler?

I'm taking temp's off that HD LED Oil Dip stick which has always been very consistant. So yes this is an oil reading......

I am running a Penziol Racing oil 20-50 oil which the builder put in there. Yes she was Dynoed and SERT tuned but this builder does not tune to AFR.

He (per him) tunes to rpm's and power. Not to AFR.

And I already run an Ultra Cool Oil cooler......

So what you are saying is your tuner doesn't have an exhaust sniffer on his dyno?

That's to high & your tune needs to be checked.

You have the wrong engine builder then. He's crazy, & you better take it to someone else, & let them tune it properly before you do damage.Who built the motor & did this tune???

Maybe I'll go see JD .....I ride up that way allot....

I since called S&S and they said it's OK at 265.....if it rose to 285-290 they would be concerned.

They said their 124 CI runs around 280 degrees......

One of our engines runs around 210 oil temp normally, and a 235 degree oil temp would be awfully high.
