Gas Tank Dent update

RE: Gas Tank Dent update
I bent a rear fender on my FLSTCI last year (backed into a truck bumper with the light bar). It bent pretty good and cracked the paint. I paid $405.00 for a new factory matched painted fender (two tone vivid black and lava red sunglo with gold and orange pinstripe). I installed it my self. I'm wondering what a factory tank (color matched) would cost and how much the dent removal guy is going to charge. I suppose I could have had my fender done by my dealer or a good body shop, but now I have a new fender and the paint in right on target and I'll bet not much difference in cost.

Mike:
Put my bike on the ground 3 weeks ago and dented the tank. A factory matched tank (Cobalt Blue) for my 07 SuperGlide custom was $861.00, not including the labor to install (2 hours). I went ahead and paid the difference between what the insurance was giving me for a repair/repaint ($675 including the labor) and got the new one. Put it on myself and now have a 2nd set of skins (went ahead and bought a new front fender and rear fender bare) for when I repaint next spring.
