I take it that a fuel Pak is needed
once you swap out your stock exhaust correct. Once my 2012 RK is delivered I plan on putting on V&H big shot dual (17931). From everything that I've been reading it states a fuel pak is required. I guess this does what reprograms the EFI like I used to do on my sporty when rejetting it?
Does anyone one have any recommendations on a fuel pak besides the V&H?
Thanks
scott.

The fuel pak works great for what it is, which is a stage I fuel adder. It basically sits between the ECM and your fuel injection unit, and adds a little extra fuel to what the ECM is telling the throttle body to deliver. The big knock on the fuel pak is that you can't dyno tune with it, so it will never be anything more than a canned map, which might be all you'll ever want.
If you've got V&H exhaust, and aren't planning on going beyond stage I, it will probably work just fine. I had one on my bike while it was in stage I, and it worked better than the power commander that I replaced it with. My problem was that I couldn't find any kind of a fuel pak map for the cams I was planning on using, so I sold it and bought the power commander.
The fuel pak isn't a bad unit, and it's dead simple to use. No computer needed, just plug in some numbers and ride. Put one on a friends bike last year, and he's really happy with it, no plans to replace it.
I'm about to go back into my motor and upgrade it again, this time I'll be using the tts, and will get the bike dyno tuned when it's all together.

I'm happy with my Fuelpak. I have the V&H Big Radius 2-1 pipe and the Screaming Eagle air intake. It's one of the least expensive ways to keep the bike running correctly.
If you ever plan on doing more than the exhaust and air intake, you should look into something like the Power Commander 5. It doesn't cost too much and you can program it for almost anything.

^^^^Yes, the Fuelpak is specifically TPS linked with limited modification from the "canned" maps. No timing adjustment, no O2 sensor link, no tuning specific jugs, no real dyno tune capability. It's great for a guy/gal that wants a simple fuel management module for nothing much more than a standard stage 1 with no plans for future upgrade modifications. Once you start messing with cams, jugs, heads you'll want something with more tuning versatility. It's cheap and very easy....lots of folks love it that remain within it's design specs.
