Default Engine Fit

I have purchased a 2006 TC88 FI engine FFW serial number and looking for advice to any problems I would have installing the engine on my 2005 Electra Glide Standard FI with FVW Serial Number. The reason for wanting the change is the New Engine is Black Powder Coated and my present engine is to say the least, not a Pretty. I am told that the Throttle Bodies are different and will not work without changing the wiring. Will I have other issues to deal with? Any help would be appreciated.

There are certainly more qualified ppl here to answer your questions, but I put a set of '06 heads on my '02 FLHTCUI & all I had to change were the TB flanges.

I'm certainly no expert, but I have been told that the 06 TB's can not be used on older bikes. Among other things, they have different injectors and ECM's.

If it were me, I'd use my stock 05 TB on the new motor and change only the flanges. That way all of your existing electronics can remain intact.

So.... whatcha gonna do w/ the silver motor?

The motor is a direct fit. You will need to change the wiring connectors to mate with the 06 tb or get 2 pre 06 heads and bolt them on with the pre 06 tb.

Thanks to all for the help. Today I discovered a new Monkey Wrench in my near perfect plan. It turns out that the Motor is a 88B and will not fit in my frame. Now I have two good motors. One to push my Hog down the road and one to put in the garage and admire. I guess I'll just have to build a Chopper. That's going to make the little woman happy.[X(]

Ummmm, if the vin is an FFW and it is a Beta motor, you better be looking for fake #'s. FFW indicates a touring bike (non balanced)

Yeah, I'm looking into that now. The serial on the engine is FFW6621112. I'm going to call the dealer that made the swap tomorrow and hope to get some info. All I wanted was a Black Powder Coated motor to make my bike Purdy. Oh well, at least I didn't remove my motor yet so I can still ride with the Ole Silver Engine for awhile.

If I were you I would call HD customer service. They have a guy who handles only such vin# situations.
