Default Bigger Jet caused back fire/carb fart

Went to a bbigger jet onight. Bike was running fine but wanted to try 1 higher jet than the kit recommended for my set up.I did not ride long But I got a nasty pop from the pipes and a carb fart as well. Does this make sense, should I go even bigger jet?

backfire thourgh the carb usually means rich or timing... if it doesn't backfire through the carb with the smaller jet then that's what you need...
