Default Touring Fuel Tank Outlets

My 99 road king with FI has the 2 outlet ports on underside of fuel tank.
Later tanks I noticed have the single outlet.
Is it possible to retrofit single outlet tanks to work on earlier 2 port bikes?
Nit sure what year exactly when the changeover took place.
It's easier to find single outlet tanks and paint sets than the earlier dual port.
Thx

FI bikes have the two fuel lines. One is the fuel supply line routing pressurized fuel to the injectors, the other line is the fuel return line back to the tank. Carbed bikes have a single fuel petcock and are gravity fed to the carb.

Jim,

It is possible to convert either type of EFI tank for use with a carb (I have done it), but your twin outlet EFI system needs both of those outlets, so to use a later tank would require fitting a second outlet. That won't be difficult to do, for a local indy or custom shop, so it is worth phoning around.
