Hey All,

I'm going to take the "C" clips off the exhaust head pipes that keep the flanges where they bolt to the head. Is there a trick to getting them off? Or, is it just a matter of pulling apart and twisting kinda thing? Also, are they reusable (assuming I don't thrash them on the way off and on)?

Grab one side with some vise grips and the other with pliers; spread the ends and remove. Yes, you can reuse them.

Any cheap pair of circlip pliers will do.

 

I use a cheap piston ring spreader. I got tired of distorting them.
