Exclamation this s&s is killing me

i rebuilt a s&s super e carb, im having a problem with it fouling the plugs i adjusted the carb to spec and i still foul the plugs,im getting black smoke after they foul,when i put a new set in it runs good for a lil bit then goes to crap,do i need to retard the timing a lil bit?someone please help me it is kicking my butt,if possible give me a processs of elimination,i am flat broke due to plugs lol also the front plug is black and the rear is brown

I have had that problem. Make sure the enrichner is fully seated. If you are using the S&S backing plate with the paddle enrichner be sure there is a space between the paddle and the button on the enrichner stem. If not bend the plate down until there is free play.

Also turn down the acceleration enrichment.

it was brought to me rejetted with i dont know what and i fouled the se plugs then some champions im goin broke doin a favor lol

It's way too rich. Since you don't know what jets are in it, gonna be tough to help. You gotta have a baseline to know where to make changes. Plugs are $2.00 apiece at O'Reilly's. I suggest a box, some different jets and maybe a call to your Indy for set up suggestions.

If it didn't foul the plugs before the rebuild then it's most likely the float height or something got in the needle and seat after you rebuilt it.

From S&S ,rich mixture-Enrichment/fast idle plunger not seating and sealing passageway. As for Float ,raise float until needle is in closed position and spring in top of needle is compressed. Top of float opposite the needle and seat assembly should be 1/8 to 3/16 below bowl gasket surface.
