Default SE Pro CNC Ported Factory Heads

I am going to do a SE Stage III build on my 2010 WG and am interested in SE Pro CNC Ported Factory Heads, Part # 16500013 from the 2011SE Racing Parts catalog.

The HD dealer has never used those heads with a Stage III build, but the catalog appears to indicate they can accommodate auto compression releases and should improve the performance of the 259 cams. The service manage is calling the tech department at HD to inquire.

Does anyone have any experience with those heads?

On a related note, the SE heavy breather teardrop filter cover in cutbback black is awesome looking (page 33 of the catalog) but would appear to restrict air flow negating the benefit of the heavy breather. Comments?

Default CNC ported heads 16500013

Just had them put on my 07 Fatboy , nice improvement over stock , using them with 255 cams, my builder was surprised as it extended my torque curve a bit and the low end is really right up there now . What was even better got them at a good discount , hear they are now at 999.00 part no remains the same they just added an A on the end.

Posted the table below on another thread comparing the flow from the various SE heads ....

I got the MCR heads from Manchester HD with intake flanges and head gaskets for $723 shipped (in silver powdercoat) ... thought that was a great deal ....

There are some trade offs between the CNC and MCR in low lift and higher lift flow rates ... obviously the CNC should be an improvement over the stock heads ... but, for a grand ... think you could do better for less money from Big Boyz, Hillside or several other vendors who specialize in head porting ....

Default 2007 fatboy

I agree completely, a grand is way too much , but since I got the CNC ported heads for 620.00 and can get 200 to 300 for my 07 heads on e bay I thought I got a great deal and am happy with the way these heads perform . Bean at Big Boys is a great guy , does good work , definitely another good way to go if you are looking for a street port from someone with a lot of experience .
