Default Gear Drive Cam Conversion Kit

Hello Forum!

I think about the modification of my TC88B Engine (2004) by the gear drive cam conversation kit from S&S (33-5177). As I understand, there could be problems with the backlash. I would generaly ask the forum for experience made with this engine modification. Is this reccommendable sollution?

Many thanks for your support and number of advices in advance!

Regards,

Armageddon

Yes check your crank run out as this is even more improtant then with chain drive gears. All so make sure you replace the bearings in the crank case as the INA are junk. Been running chain drive cams for 85,000 miles. Last time I went in to the cam case I installed the cam plate update kit that not only goes to hydraulic cam chain adjuster but you go to the better later oil pump.
