Default 106 BB Upgrade - What Suits??

Hi,

I am looking at the S&S 106 Big Bore Kit for my 08 FXDC with 96 EFI stock engine.

Currently the motor is stock with S&S Single Bore Tuned Induction intake, Samson Ledgend 3 Pomona Exhaust, Thundermax (also have a SERT if it suits the upgrade better).

With the 106 big bore kit i would like to also get: Heads, Cams, Pushrods but am unsure of which would most suit.

I mainly ride 1up in both highway and city areas and am looking for something that gives an increase in power across the board.

Also will i need to increase the injector size or any other parts?

You can also bore your existing cylinders to 107", and when combined with a Wood 555 cam, and a good set of heads, dyno tuning has shown 110 hp, and 127 ft/lbs, with the OE t/body, and Rhinehart duals.
Same combo with a BUB 2/1 Lakester pipe, and modified t/body, resulted in 116/128 in fellow forum member Odius Barbarian's FXD.
With a Wood 8 cam, our 107" kit and very good heads, we also have witnessed 126 hp and 122 ft/lbs via outside dyno tuning at Gails Harley-Davidson, Grandview, MO.
Just really depends what you want.

+1 on the 107/555/Scott's Stage III head, I can't get the grin off of my face!

Thanks Scott, have a couple of questions though.

What is the cost of your 107 kit? And can you send to OZ?

What mods to the t/body are recommended?

What is the difference and cost of good heads and very good heads?

get the 106" kit with a compression release s&s 583 cam and head work. Power the whole rpm range. Send your heads to s&s and they will port and polish them for 600 bucks... Just put a 58mm throttle body on mine w injectors. Pulls hard as hell.

Were those cylinder heads port-matched, to the 58 t/body??
