Its sound like you dont have your alignment right with the oil pump.

Cam grease will not cause a problem. It can take a few seconds to get the light to go out, but if staying on 30 sec or more, you most likey have a probelm. If you had the gerotors (gears) out of the oil pump body, most likely you put them back in the wrong order. Very common occurence for do it yourselfers.

May have one of the little "spring washers" in wrong place. I forget exactly what they're called.

You'll have to take your cam cover and plate back off, take the oil pump out and all the internal washers and gerotors (if you took them all out to clean them). Double check the alignment when reinstalling and make sure you have all the o-rings in place when you put the oil pump back in. How did you align your oil pump the first time? Did you use the oil pump alignment pins and then rotate the rear wheel?

If there's no dot on the washer, it can face either way. I would not recommend rippin into your engine again without a service manual.
