Not having Timkens in the new motors, makes me wonder how is the Moco controlling the side thrust.

Work Truk is one of the main people here who I think highley of.
This isn't a kids blogging place. Be positive always.

And speaking of the crank,-- as Hillside said.
the crank is a press interference fit. There is potential for movement always.
The thing is engineered to have 0.007 difference between the crank pin and the wheel. Probably freeze one and heat the other and slide together.
But what happenes if the pin is on the small side of specification and the wheels are on the big side? Gotta happen sometime. Probably never notice when all stock.
But
This is why if going big horsepower one has to rule out this posibility.

Hey Dog... Whats up? Comp bolted to the crank sets the side play.

Back to the OP... it's a crap shoot! My crank moved with a set of 21's and all else stock. Maybe 70hp?

Went from .0045 to .008 and I pulled it out.

Saw an 04 once, with .022" on the pinion, and .042" on the sprocket side.
That bike ended up a 124".
That one way to end that. hehe

I went with the SE lefty bearing.
I think the timken bearing will side load the cases and push the crank to one side due to the taper. The cases were made for up and down force not side to side force. Just a thought.
Now if someone were to come up with a dual bearing that cancelled the side trust then that would be a hell of a setup. That shop would take money out of my pocket for a bearing instal. Other then that I think the timken is a waste. Not to mension the accual bearing length of the roller is shorter on the timken then the SE ,so the roller would have to carry more weight on the roller surface area to race. meaning loss of bearing life.

SO...you're telling me my stock 103 is going to scissor just riding it normal, not hot rodding it?
