06 pipes fit on 07 softail?

06 pipes fit on 07 softail?
V&H says they wont fit, I checked the brackets and they are the same exact part #, so what gives?
I have a set of strt shots and a set of stepd drags coming, both 06 models, I also have the pc3usb w/o2 eliminators allready installed.
Think they will fit? I measured my buddy's 04 duece and the frame matchs up perfectly, and the HD dealer says the motor configuration, heads and jug heights are the same.

Might depend upon the model of the bike. I recently tried a pair of 06 performance mufflers from RUSH on an 07 and they wouldnt fit. Pipes lined up as did the bracket bolts, but the by-pass isn't present for the 07 muffler. This fit was on a 07 Softail Heritage though........
