Default bike shuts off after high speed

When I ride my bike on the highway and pull off on an exit ramp, sometimes when I stop the bike is not running . I can restart with no problem and it runs ok after. 2007 FXST 32,000 miles. Any help?

I'm not saying this is what's wrong with your bike but mine did it one time when I ran it too low on fuel. I'd have to say mine was fuel pressure related.

When it does this is your tank full or below half? At Sturgis last year a friends bike was acting funny but when he filled up it ran great again. Below half tank it got crappy. He thought it was fuel but finally found a mechanic with some experience and found the fuel injection lines inside the tank had pin holes in them. When he got below a half tank he was sucking air and really confusing the FI.! If your problem goes away with a full tank then check your fuel lines in the tank.

Thanks, filled it up and same thing. It's backfiring on decelleration and then if i pull the clutch the engine is not running

Check for an intake leak. Spray some WD-40 around the intake flanges and see if the rpm's rise.

Try cleaning the IAC valve. It's in the throttle body just in front of the butterfly. Cycle the ignition while spraying carb leaner in it.

Yes. IAC may be the trouble.

It is having trouble getting itself back to a smooth idle.

And keep the idle arounf 989-1000 at least.

Do yourself a favor and just replace the iac, cleaning will not always cure internal problems.

Yes you can have electrical problems with this thing specially with a MC.
I got to thinking why auto have very little trouble with this IAC.
I figure cause it is so far away from the actually fuel delivery. Depending on system it cam be over 12-18 inches.
HD are 2-3 inches.
Mine was stuck with stuff, I figured vaporized from around the valves.
And this gas is full of ethynol also and has potential with some systems to do damage.
