Default EVO oil pump drive gear

hey folks,

i'm trying to remove the oil pump drive gear... not the first one you encounter when removing the oil pump cover, but the next one behind the oil pump body.... there isn't a retaining ring on this one...seems like it should just slide off....what gives?...anyone know? ....only thing i can think of the woodruff key is binding it up against the shaft

also...it's obvious why i gotta change it....here's a pic

Is there any space behind it to get a lip of a small puller behind it?

Do you have a little propane bottle torch? A little heat might free the gear up.

Any signs of why the gear wound up in that condition? I would probably be removing the cam cover to inspect the condition of the gear housing.

indeed, Kingofcubes...was wondering myself

when i bought the bike, it was on the second owner....so not much info was available about its history

and of course, first thing i wanna do is some performance upgrades... heads were first on my list... so while removing them, i pull out the pushrods, and they're adjustable...i'm like, ???.... someone's been behind the cam cover

long story short...inner cam bearing was replaced at one point with the torrington...but NOT the cam...cam was stock

...i'm thinking the original bearing was spun and some debris got circulated...yikes!

Was the oil pump body damaged? Any debris in the scavage channel?
