Default vance n hines ovals...baffle break

I have been reading for some time and decided on a set of vance n hines ovals...I know that the first run had some problems but mine are on an 07 and sound like a bag a bolts. At first I thought it was the the shields but that is not the case. Anybody else have this problem lately....Thanks.... Haas

Make sure the shields are tight. I had left one loose & it rattled bad. Tightened & no more noise.

Funny uou ask. I just got a call from the stealer who was doing my 5000 service and they said my right side baffle is shot/blown. Mine too started to sound "tinny" after about 3500 miles. I haven't seen any replacement baffles for the ovals..Does anyone know if they exist? Can they just be repacked? I'm leaving on thursday for a 3000 mile trip and now I'm bummed and or anxious for the problem to be corrected.

I'm bummed as well since I only have 600 miles on the pipes and I suspect they were faulty from the get go. I've read posts from the past (2004) when then ovals were new and this was a common problem which was corrected by replacing the baffle. I will soon be contacting Eastern performance and If that fails Vance and Hines.

It most likely a loose baffle causing the rattle. A simple fix is to pull the baffle ding the end or oblong it slightly(the end that slides furthest in the muffler) and tap the baffle back in place. All your'e doing is just tightening the fit, to stop the rattle. New baffles probably won't help you, been there done that!

To update my situation I have contacted v&h and they will send replacement baffles. I did not contact Eastern performance but they contacted me via pm. They were very helpful and I would buy from them in the future without hesitation.

Are they sending replacements for free? I sent them an e-mail to the tech support but have not heard anything yet. The stealer said they were replacing the entire right side muffler. I was so frustrated with the stealer that I told them just to fix the problem and call me when it was done. I'm sure I'm going to pay for it out the a$$.
