Sounds like it might be a centrifical related problem maybe.

In the lower gears, 1-4, the clutch spines up enough to throw the weights out good.

In the higher gears, 5-6, the clutch is not spinning up near as much.

And probably that is right at the torque peak.

Just thinking about this.

I know you will figure this out.

Old G,

Mr. Woods Suggested adding more weight to the TPP. I believe he's thinking the same thing you are. Rivera stated to use less ATF, when put together the wrench added a full quart, Rivera recommended a little more than a cup. They stated the ATF needs to bleed off of the bands in order for the clutch to grip better.

DRAGO,

I'm a little surprised, that the rep from Rivera could not tell us what what the spring tension on there gold hat was. Your comments led me on a quest. One other person pointed out the Rivera Hat was only rated @ 400LBS. AIM's is rated at 480. 80 additional pounds of pressure is allot.

So therefore, here is what I ordered. An AIM gold hat, since the Rivera TPP is present we will use that. If more weight is needed, thy shall be done. Furthermore, we will drian a little fluid and then put it on the dyno. Hopefully there will be no more slipping.

All in favor say "I"

Sounds like a good plan.
Listen the Bob Woods. He has probably been there.

I have never put my hands on the actual parts, but I do understand the process.

Amsoil has a racing ATF in their line-up. Trick-Shift also has a Synthetic ATF on most Auto parts shelves.

More, coefficient of friction. Better heat resistance.

I have been watching this thread on another forum as well. There seems to be some confusion on the total amount of primary fluid. Is the 8 oz. amount correct? Someone thought that it was 8oz. of ATF, in addition to 24 oz. of another primary oil.

Rob,

I do not know where that cat came up with the 24 ounce additive. 8 oz is what ray recommended. He was very specific in his last thread.

I'll have news by friday.

Stay tuned.

If this machine goes onto the street, as opposed to say drag racing, keep in mind there is a lot of other things going on inside the primary beside the clutch doing its thing.

Roller chains are actually roller bearings and the sprokets and the bearings suporting the whole shebang.

Also the temperature around the Alternator.

Gotta have enough oil level to lubircate and also coole the whole works.

I don't think the oil level is the issue.

Clutch weights more that likely. Lean into that area.

Pretty much like the Centerforce Clutch for Autos and Trucks.

You guys are making my head hurt. I ran the Primo Pro with Dexron III in the recommended quantity in the HD manual without issues. I really think there is an issue somewhere, but it sure ain't in the amount or type of oil if you are using the oil recommended by Rivera. Al lI ever ran was the gold hat , no lock up and it never slipped and there are way too many others tht run the same in the bigger engines. Keep fussin with it but I am thinking you may get to the point that you will want to send this unit back to Rivera and have them look at it, something just ain't right.

Dalton,

I'm taking excedrin for my headache. If what I announced does not work (the AIM 480 Gold Hat and modified fluid levels with the TPP) it is going back to Rivera. I'm on my last stand and have ran out of patience. I just have to get back to SND, get the results and then do what I need to do. I see no reason at this point for further comments. I'll let you guys know about he outcome soon.

Thanks to all.
