Default Ethanol in our gas

Townsend Motorsports & Restoration - Hope everyone watched the news, EPA is trying to push E15 gas and WSB 2 Atlanta reported some of the problems associated with E10 gas costing consumers thousands for repairs due to the E10 gas. Here at TMR we have seen more and more problems with E10 as time goes on we all will feel the effects, We have reported a decrease of up to 20% less fuel mileage plus the problems associated with E10. Beware it's only going to get worse.

As I understand it the 10% will still be sold side-by-side just like choosing premium vs. regular octane. The Gov't will subsidize the price point of the 85% to make it artifically cheaper and encourage reducing dependence on imported oil by reducing overall demand with the added EtOH. We've run 10% long-term for many, many years in SoCal and the only issue is reduced mileage since the gasoline engine isn't optimized to run on alcohol. Burning a mix of alcohol is not going to cause deterioration in your vehicle unless you leave it stored long-term without stabilizers, and that happens to any type of fuel when it decomposes over time.

It's true if you ride your bike or drive your car often the water will be suspended in the gas. But here in Georgia our bikes, and our classic/Hot Rods sit sometimes thirty days or longer by then the water has seperated from the gas and settled to the pickup in the tank causing rust in new and old tanks, Also we have started seeing fuel pump problems and O-Ring damage on fuel injected cars and bikes. We have tested gas here in Georgia at a few gas stations and have found up to twenty eight percent ethanol at some of these stations. One of my friends has a 2009 BMW seven series that has been towed in four times to the dealer because of high ethanol content. Our gas has a maxium life of only fifteen days, I have stored carb parts, injectors, even air filters off Harley Davidson bikes that have been effected by this gas, All costing the customer for replacement now with E10 costing over three dollars a gallon plus all of the cost to repair our vehicles plus the lost gas mileage where does it end.
