Default 107ci vs porting heads

I have a 103ci in my 2011 RG with 555 Woods cam, Thunderheader, SE tuner and air cleaner. I can get a 107 kit for $600 , plus local labor and dyno OR port and polish the heads with a well known builder for $1400 (labor included) plus dyno. What would give me more HP cheaper plus reliablility?

Thanks

I'd have the heads done to match the cam. I think that will net you more gains than the slight increase in displacement.

Your already starving your cylinders by not porting the heads to match the cam. Bore it bigger and it's starving even more! I'd say porting will make it run right!

I hear ya, but $1400 plus dyno is a lot $ . But he is a well know builder. What do you or anyone else know about sending my heads to one of these" heads only" businesses(like Headquarters) for $400-500 plus local labor?

I'd also vote head work along with a .030 head gasket. But geez, I think you could get some very nice head work done for less than half the price??

Call Don Dorrman (Dewey's Heads) in the Tacoma area; 253 691-5893. Don had a velocity port, head blue print package that is pretty reasonable. He is a builder and porter, very knowledgeable, has been working on Harleys for many years and easy to talk to.

Oh yeah, another vote for porting.

I think you would see more from headwork and having the compression set right. I didn't even go bigger and my little 96" runs pretty sweet.

Head Quarters isn't a "heads only" business, and they'll be more than $400-$500.
