Default air cleaner - ebay

I bought an air cleaner off ebay . Real cool , and it bolted up just like
they said it would . However the crank case ventilation passage or bolts
don't have a place to hook up .
I dont think it wise to block off the passage with bolts .
Each cylinder had a hollow allen bolt that opened on the inside of the air cleaner, any ideals

Thanks , LostinAl

You will need to maintain a vent, either to the breather or to a routed catch can. I'am thinking there's a post on this somewhere.

If you want to route the breathers from the heads to dump on the ground, or into a catch-can, get a hose barb tee, run a short hose from each head breather bolt to the tee, then run a 3rd line down to the catch-can or just below the frame rails so it dumps on the ground. Or you could drill a hole in the air cleaner backing plate, install a fitting, and route the breather hoses there.

Thanks , John & Skip
That's about what I was thinking . There is only about enough room
for a 1/4 or 5/16 hole if I drill on the inside of the air cleaner to the back plate . I'm not sure if that will be enough . I guess I'll look into the catch can. I'm riding to the Smokies (pegion forge) this week end , so I'll do it when I get back and leave feed back . again thanks guys !

Do you have enough room for two seperate lines into the air cleaner? That would work too but a bit more work

Yeah ,I thought of that , BUT it's going to be close , I really didn't know if that would be enough ventilation for the crank case . I beleive it would be .
I will probably go that route . I don't think It's the amout of ventilation as much as adiqute ventilation . If that makes sense . Thanks for the input .

If you ride without the venting not hooked up you're going to have a problem. Fix the venting issue before the trip.

Maybe I'm reaching here but if it "bolted up just like it's supposed to" didn't include provision for the vents , well just maybe it didn't bolt right up.
Very important issue.

Feed _ back Problem solved !
Thanks for all the feed back . and everyone had Good feed.
I went to a friend , (local wrench) who builds bikes ,mostly chops out off harleys. Sure enuugh his bike was the answer .
First , neeed a bracket to suport the carb and air cleaner .
second , need two dump cans with banjo fittings ( $ 45. each )
or they sell a kit for this very thing. ($ 60 .) Dumps under the bike.
I will check some of my wish books before I make it final now that I know what I'm looking for.
Conclusion : You get what you pay for ! Ebay air cleaner no bargain , but damn it's pretty !
