Thanks Tootal. I hear what your saying. I'm not trying to build something that is all top end, but I also don't want something that is out of breath before the limiter...it just doesnt feel natural lol. That being said, I'm having Bishops performance do the Stage II hammerheads, manifold and bumping the comp to 10.25:1 per their suggestion. I emailed back and forth with them about a few different cam options and then when I pulled open the cam chest I found that 326 in there, to my suprise, because the torque curve felt like a stock curve to my limited harley experience. So I let them know what I had and left the option up to them to go with the vthunder 3030 or use the existing crane 326...they email back and said that Bill could make it go with what I had. That being said, the numbers on the 326 bug the hell out of me and I feel that with what I am doing to the motor there is a better cam to build around, but what do I know so I will defer to the pros. I have givin myself more than one headache over this, and just decided to take BPs word for it.

Well, sent the parts off today. Decided I didn't want to keep the fireball 326 and the evl3030 was a bit lower on the tq curve than I wanted, so I went with an EV-5...I know its an older grind and I've read of noise issues but the numbers seemed like almost exactly what I was after. Thanks again for the advice and food for thought, it really helped.

Well with higher compression I think the EV5 looks good but the overlap at 48 degrees will cause some reversion. You will need to keep the rpm up to stop reversion or just put up with air cleaner oil dripping on your chrome.

Well got the parts back. Went with 10:1 comp, ported and flowed the heads w/jims springs, jetted the carb and got an evl-3030 cam. Started assembling it yesterday, still have to clearance the cam chest a bit more but will hopefully have it back together within the week if time allows.

Default Old thread but build done

Well finaly finished the rebuild. I ended up with 10.55:1 which is to much for the evl-3030 cam, but the thing flat goes. I had to ditch the KB pistons after finding a cracked scirt on the front. Jug were uneven so had baisley make some stroker plates and got the deck issue squared away... I am considering going to a Powerhouse 560v cam since I overshot my compression mark..should give me about 9.25:1 corrected. quench is about .032.

I have stock CV just rejetted. Anyone have any success with the 560v camshaft on a 80ci build before? Thanks again for all the advice, I learned and spent a lot.
