Default woods cam and valve clearence

Thinking about going with the woods tw408-6 or tw400-6 cams. I have stock ported 2008 heads, cut .05 and with 1.94int / 1.615exh valves. Will they bolt in or will i need to cut clearence in the pistons?

Two issues; valve relief position and depth. You didn't say what pistons? I assume stock which means valve reliefs should be widened and moved toward the perimeter of the piston. See the attached photo amd you can see how the relief hi-lited by the red arrows has been repositioned compared to the stock releif hi-lited by the blue arrows.

One way to tell if the reliefs are deep enough is to clay the head and measure. Another way, if you are equipped, would be to disassemble the heads, replace spring with a light spring, install with head gasket and pistons at TDC and then depress valve until it makes contact, measure that distance, deduct TDC lift and the difference is V to P clearance. This is time consuming and does require some precision measuring but does not expose the valve to possible contact/damage with a piston rising in the cylinder as the crank rotates to TDC.

Wood 400 TDC is .210" intake, .190" on the ex.
Wood 408 TDC is .218" intake, .200" on the ex.

Shouldn't be any valve relief issues with those pistons; depth is the only issue. Per Scott's post, you can see that the selected cams have fairly high TDC lifts. Mock up and measure is the only way to know for sure.
