Adjustable pushrod question

Adjustable pushrod question
I'm getting ready to put my cam chest back together in my TC88 and have a couple of questions about adjustable push rods. Obviously they are not all created equal. I know that I need the "ez-install" type since I cut my stockers and don't plan on tearing in to the rocker boxes. I'm sticking with the stock cams unless I can find a good deal on a "mild" set of cams within the next couple of weeks. I see that some adjustable pushrods include new tubes and some do not. Shouldn't they all require new tubes or is their enough clearance in the stock tubes? What about quality....any brands that I should stay away from? I see adjustable chrome moly sets as cheap as $83 (Maddog BTP on eBay) up to about $200. I know that you get what you pay for but I'd rather not just be paying for a name. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I definitely agree with that 96roadking. I was just using that as an example of the price range. I just don't want to pay $200 for the same quality product that I can get for say..$150 elsewhere.

+1 on the tapered ones. Most adjustables are larger in diameter and when they go into the head they can hit the sides of the tubes and be forced out of the rocker arm socket. This makes for a nice ticking sound like your riding an evo with too much cam gear clearance!! It's not so good for the push rod either. I had this problem and reamed out the tubes with a 13.5mm reamer. I believe that size is correct but it has been a while! By adjusting the rocker position and the ream job I cured my problem. Getting the tapered ones would have cured it right off the bat but they didn't make them when I did mine.
